New Society for the Study of Animals in Society in Germany

 

The  Group for Society and Animals Studies (GSA) has been founded at the Institute of Sociology at the University of Hamburg, and is one of the first institutions of its kind in the German speaking countries. Animals May have Spiritual Experiences

Thought this was an interesting article  http://news.discovery.com/animals/animals-spiritual-brain.html in Discovery from a neurologist.  Does anyone else have literature or resources on this subject?

Pushing Science -Groves Conference

Just came back from the Groves conference on Family Connections and Communication Across and Within Species. Between the whale museum and the Human-Primate Center it reminded me of Ted Crail's book on "Apetalk and Whalespeak -The Quest for Interspecies Communication". Speakers ranged from Etholgists to Family Therapists with a heavy does of scholarly academics and retired thinkers. Meg Olmetrt and Marc Bekoff spoke via Skype which was great.
